What’s New

  • Locked Settings Policies in Poly Lens - IT Admins can now lock supported Studio Desktop app and device settings using Poly Lens cloud policies, where changes are disabled for the end user. See Locked Settings Policies for more information.
  • Feature Configuration via Policy for Calendar and Wellbeing Functionality – Calendar and wellbeing functionality can now be disabled by IT Admins in the desktop app via Poly Lens if desired in the App Management section of Poly Lens. See Desktop App Feature Configuration for more information.
  • Expanded App Settings Management in Poly Lens - A broader set of Studio Desktop app settings can now be configured through Poly Lens. Supported app settings categories include General, Notifications and Device Alerts, and Language.
  • Added support for TAA G6 Docks.
  • Added support for new display features on supported HP displays.
  • Additional performance improvements to further reduce CPU consumption when app is running.

Fixed Issues

General:

  • Fixed an issue where the app would occasionally display a message saying an update has failed when attempting an update, even though it would complete successfully.

Headsets:

  • Fixed an issue where Poly Voyager Focus devices may need to be updated to latest firmware to have the option to change device language.
  • Fixed an issue where Poly BT700 dongle devices may show a DFU update available when no update is actually available, and a subsequent update failure message if such update is attempted.
  • Fixed an issue where some Poly Savi headsets do not allow for the device language to be changed in the device settings.
  • Fixed an issue where some Poly Savi headsets would display firmware version as ffff.ffff.ffff.ffff.

Video:

  • Fixed an issue where the UI might not display properly with a Poly Studio V12 connected to the PC.
  • Fixed an issue where Poly Studio V12 can now be onboarded to Poly Lens cloud by adding provisioning details via Studio Desktop app.
  • Fixed an issue on macOS where the Poly Studio R30 mute LED might not reflect system mute state while the Studio Desktop app was running.
  • Fixed an issue where Wi‑Fi client certificate (P12/PFX) installation failed with incorrect password.
  • Fixed an issue with the Poly Studio V12 proxy where enable/disable toggle was not updated correctly and always showed disabled unless a specific server address was specified.
  • Fixed an issue where during the initial setup for Poly Studio V12, the Static IP network parameters were not saved after the first attempt when applying the LAN configuration, but this works on the second attempt.

Displays:

  • Fixed an issue where Lenovo displays and HP displays connected to a PC with the Poly Studio Desktop app running would occasionally flicker.

Known Issues

Headset:

  • Extra beeping tones may be heard on HP Poly Mission series headsets during Zoom calls.

Video:

  • For Poly Studio USB camera, PTZ controls are configurable although they are locked via Poly Lens cloud policy and locked settings get reset to factory default after restoring device defaults.
  • Poly Studio V52/V72 certificates are invisible in the app until relaunch and disappear after deleting one.
  • For Poly Studio USB and Poly Studio V72 devices, after updating default password to new password, the new password is not accepted on the first attempt; requires cancelling first attempt and making second attempt to succeed.
  • HP 960/965 webcam is not supported for software updates in Mac.
  • Poly Studio P5 camera anti-flicker setting reverts to 60 Hz on Mac after unplug and replug.

Displays:

  • When On Screen Display (OSD) is enabled, Desktop app does not report display details accurately.

Docks:

  • Locked dock settings are reset to factory default after restoring device defaults.

What’s New

  • Performance Improvements - Significant performance improvements have been made throughout the app to reduce CPU consumption at idle and during use.

Known Issues

  • When updating from a Poly Lens Desktop version to a Poly Studio Desktop version, the app may display a message saying the update has failed, but will still execute the upgrade successfully (can verify by checking software version in app settings).

  • The UI may not display properly when a Poly Studio V12 video device is connected to the PC.

  • Poly Studio V52 video devices with firmware versions older than 1.6.0 need to upgrade to 1.6.0 before being able to upgrade to versions after 1.6.0.

  • Acoustic events count displayed in the Poly Lens cloud may be larger than actual count of events in the Poly Studio Desktop app instances.

  • Poly Voyager Focus devices may need to be updated to latest firmware to have the option to change device language.

  • Poly BT700 dongle devices may show a DFU update available when no update is actually available, and a subsequent update failure message if such update is attempted.

  • Call analytics data may not appear in the Poly Lens cloud after upgrading to version 5.0 of the Poly Studio Desktop app.

IMPORTANT The Poly Lens Desktop App has been updated to a new brand name and design with several key changes as highlighted here. Please note that Poly Lens Cloud and device management functionality has not changed. Poly Lens Desktop is now known as the HP Poly Studio Desktop App, or Poly Studio Desktop for short. With this rebrand, we have also updated our app’s look and feel, and further enhanced the end user experience with new functionality as described below. What’s New

  • Updated UI/UX – HP Poly Studio Desktop 5.0 introduces an exciting new, modernized end user experience with a new home page, device dashboard page, and flat inventory view. Wellness reminders have also been redesigned for an updated look and feel, and the application support and device support pages have been combined for more seamless switching between these areas.
  • ARM-Based PC Support – Poly Studio Desktop 5.0 adds support for ARM-based PCs with an ARM-native version.
    Note: Please see the Known Issues section below for specific ARM limitations in this release.
  • HP Docks Support – HP G6 docks are now fully supported.
  • HP Displays Support – For HP Series 3, 5, and 7. (Supported on Windows x64 Platform only)
  • HP Poly Mission Headset Support - HP Poly Mission 400/600/800 Series are now supported.
  • Light/Dark Modes – Poly Studio Desktop App adds support for light and dark modes throughout the app, including the ability to follow OS system theme for these modes.
  • Calendar Integration – Poly Studio Desktop App adds a new calendar page with the option to connect a user’s Microsoft O365 Calendar to view events and start Teams and Zoom meetings from this page for easy access.
    Note: Some organizations may require IT Admins to grant end user access to connect their O365 Calendar. See Poly Studio Desktop Calendar Integration for detailed information.
  • Enhanced Accessibility Support – Added support for Windows contrast themes and improved Windows Narrator support.
  • Poly Studio A2 Microphone – Poly Studio Desktop now automatically detects Poly Studio A2 Table microphone when connected to Poly Studio V12, enabling seamless mic switching and real-time accessory status across Windows and macOS.

Fixed Issues

  • The issue with updating the HP 960/965 4k streaming webcam from software version 1001 to 1002 has now been resolved.

Known Issues

  • Headset Issues:
    • Poly Voyager Focus 2 headsets may fail to update after downgrading via custom update.
    • Some Poly Savi headsets do not allow for the device language to be changed in the device settings.
  • Video Issues:
    • The provisioning server type appears as Cloud; however, for Poly Studio V52 and V72, it is actually NTLM.
    • For proxy implementation for Poly Studio V12:
      • The proxy configuration will only work if the proxy has a username and password.
      • The enable/disable toggle is not updated correctly and will always show disabled unless a specific server address is specified.
    • During the initial setup for Poly Studio V12, the Static IP network parameters are not saved after the first attempt when applying the LAN configuration, but this works on the second attempt.
    • If the 802.1 and Proxy settings are configured on Poly Studio V12 through the Poly Lens Desktop app, the changes won't be visible in the App UI after saving if the device software is at 1.4.6.430149 or lower.
    • HP webcam 960/965 does not support software updates in the MacOS app.
  • Display Issues:
    • Some display settings may not appear when two or more displays with built-in cameras are connected.
  • Windows ARM Version Only:
    • Cisco Webex, Cisco Jabber, and Avaya Workplace and Avaya One-X Agent softphones are not supported.
    • HP webcams 430/435, 620/625 and 960/965 are not supported for software updates. Device settings are supported, however.
    • Poly Studio USB video devices cannot perform software updates in ARM.
    • When using Zoom for a call, when the mute button is pressed on the headset being used for the call, the mute status is not updated in the Zoom app, even though the headset is now muted.
    • For softphone calls, when the mute button is pressed on the headset being used for the call, a mute ON notification is followed by a mute OFF notification, even though the headset is now muted.

What's New

  • Improved background process that periodically checks for network reachability after PC startup to reliably connect to the Poly Lens Cloud.
  • Added support for Asynchronous USB Audio setting for Poly Studio R30 addressing the audio issue observed on MacOS Tahoe.

Fixed Issues

  • Fixed an issue where Poly Studio V72 failed to display the “Current Software” version following an update to v1.6.0.
  • Fixed an issue where Poly Studio V12 failed to display the “Current Software” version following an update leading to incorrect update prompts.

Known Issues

  • During the initial setup for Poly Studio V12, the "Static" IP network parameters are not saved after the first attempt when applying the LAN configuration, but this works on the second attempt.
  • If the 802.1 and Proxy settings are configured on Poly Studio V12 through the Poly Lens Desktop app, the changes won't be visible in the App UI after saving if the device firmware is at 1.4.6.430149 or lower.
  • Once the software for HP 960/965 cameras is updated, the Poly Lens Desktop app must be restarted to display the updated software status.

What's New

  • HP Poly Studio A2 Mic Switching - Added support for a setting in Poly Studio V12 that allows mic switching when the Studio A2 Table Microphone is connected.  

Fixed Issue

  • Fixed an issue regarding Sensors and Presence missing in Poly Lens Cloud impacting device policies.
  • Fixed an issue where device update option is not disabled during a call.
  • Fixed an issue where on-screen alerts for accessibility and Bluetooth are incorrectly displayed upon host or App reboot.

Known Issue

  • The Frame size and HDR settings on HP 960/965 webcam are reset to previously set value and represented incorrectly unless the camera is reconnected.

What's New

  • Proxy configuration - Poly Lens Desktop 2.3 Windows supports Proxy Configuration enabling IT administrators to route application traffic through HTTP(S) proxies using system-wide or per-component settings. See Proxy Configuration for more information.
  • Installation Enhancement – Poly Lens Desktop 2.3 introduces a new installation property for enterprise IT administrators to suppress creation of the desktop shortcut icon during installation. See Installation Enhancement for more information.
  • Loginless deployment – Added the support for the application to always start minimized regardless of whether the user is logged in at the time of installation. 
  • Added support for a setting in Poly Studio V12 that allows mic switching when the Poly Studio A2 Table Microphone is connected.
  • Public BETA support for HP Thunderbolt 4 G6 Docks (100W, 180W, and 280W) is limited in this release. Please refer to Docking Stations section for more details at Poly Lens Desktop – Supported Devices.

Fixed Issues

  • Fixed an issue where “Call Button Lock” setting for Poly Voyager Focus was missing on Poly Lens Cloud.
  • Fixed an issue regarding ANC/Transparency settings missing on Poly Lens Cloud.
  • Fixed an issue affecting the call answering behavior on Poly Blackwire 8225 headsets.
  • Fixed an issue regarding the missing “Incoming call” for Poly Blackwire 8225 headsets on Poly Lens Desktop and Poly Lens Cloud.
  • Fixed an issue where Poly Lens Desktop incorrectly displayed an available update for headsets that were already running the latest firmware.
  • Fixed an issue where Poly Lens Desktop incorrectly appeared offline in the Poly Lens Cloud inventory.
  • Improved ⁠user experience while setting video favorites on Poly Studio P15.
  • Fixed an issue where supported video devices were not detected by Lens Desktop on ARM-based AI PCs.

Known Issues

  • An issue with the LegacyHost.exe service can cause the Poly Lens Desktop app to slowdown. The service restarts when the issue is detected and requires no user action.
  • During the initial setup for Studio V12, the Status IP network parameters are not saved after the first attempt when applying the LAN configuration, but this works on the second attempt.
  • If the 802.1 and Proxy settings are configured on Studio V12 through the Poly Lens Desktop app, the changes won't be visible in the app UI after saving, if the device firmware is at 1.4.6.430149 or lower.
  • Once the software for HP 960/965 cameras is updated, the Poly Lens Desktop app must be restarted to display the updated software status.

  • Fixed an issue regarding unable to select the Installed Certificates for the Wi-Fi Configuration for Poly Studio R30.
  • Fixed an issue regarding missing settings on Poly Lens Cloud supporting Poly Voyager Base-M CD.
  • Fixed crash issue seen after Poly Lens Desktop App upgrade.
  • Fixed an issue regarding Poly Studio P15 manual zoom.

Known Issues

  • An issue with the LegacyHost.exe service can cause the Poly Lens Desktop app to slowdown. The service restarts when the issue is detected and requires no user action.

Important

  • Please refer to the Supported Devices list. Any other devices detected on Poly Lens Desktop may have limited in-app functionality.

Fixed Issues

  • Fixed an issue regarding the EULA prompt when the Poly Lens Desktop App is deployed using the ACCEPTEULA switch. See Accept EULA feature for more information.
  • Fixed an issue regarding the Acoustic Events report on Poly Lens cloud.
  • Fixed an issue where the Poly Lens Desktop App does not auto-launch in the background after loginless deployment.
  • Fixed an issue where the Poly Lens Desktop App starts in Guest mode upon PC reboot after the first connection post-loginless deployment.

Important

  • Poly Lens Desktop 2.0 for Mac ensures platform security for users and requires admin privileges. Please ensure you have the privileges before you proceed with the installation/upgrade.

  • Poly Lens Desktop 2.0 for Mac supports Mac M1 Series Silicon or later. Intel based CPUs are no longer supported with Lens Desktop for Mac.
